So Here's to a Happy New Year!
So Much to Celebrate!
Life comes with its own reasons to celebrate and the New Year is a good time to celebrate and make a new plan. I recently saw an idea that I just might try. Fill an empty jar with notes of good things that happen in the 2016 year to be read on New Year’s 2017 as a reminder of all the best things of the year.
So Much to remember!
I can hardly believe how fast 2015 flew by. This year so many things have happened including, the baby boom for the Orca whales of the Puget Sound, the Forest Fires of the summer, bees a buzzing on I-5, the Seahawks return to the Super Bowl, hero’s standing firm in the midst of violence, the storm of November, and even plenty of snow for Ski Season.
So Plan to Get a Bang Out of the New Year!
The most common firework offenses are the Criminal Charges of unlawful possession of fireworks and the unlawful discharge or use of fireworks. The penalties can include fees and jail time. It is illegal for anyone to discharge or use fireworks that creates a substantial risk of death or serious physical injury to someone or damage to someone else’s property.
The Washington State Patrol has a list of illegal fireworks found on their website.
Here is a quick link to the time and location restrictions to light your fireworks
So Plan to Party!
If you are drinking tonight plan to have a designated driver, call a friend, call a cab, call a tow truck, or Stay.
So Drinking? Driving? Don't!!
It only takes a blood alcohol content of .08 for an adult or .02 for a minor to be considered legally driving under the influence A DUI is a serious crime, with serious penalties for you.
You will be arrested. Face a Department of License Hearing and Driver’s license suspension. There will be assorted court hearings including an Arraignment, Pre-Trial hearings, Trial, Sentencing. You may be sentenced with Jail, Fines, Scram Bracelet, Drug and Alcohol Evaluation, Treatment, Ignition Interlock, SR 22 filing Insurance. In the long term there are countries, including Canada, that will not allow you to enter after you have been convicted of a DUI. As well as background checks that will bring this back to the surface years from now.
