January 2015 Educator of the Month Winner
Over the summer Rick had decided that he wanted to reward our local educators for the hardwork and dedication that they give to our local students and communities. Rick partnered up with local radio station KXA 1520 AM and the Everett Silvertips to sponsor a local educator each month.
And the Winner is?
During the month of December we received several nominations for Educator of the Month for the month of December. After a thorough review of all the entries, the Law Offices of Rick H. Merrill decided on a winner, Sarah Leighow is a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Northshore Christian Academy in Everett. Ms. Leighow was nominated by a student. Below is the entry that was submitted through our website to nominate Ms. Leighow for the Educator of the Month for the month of January. You can see it was an obvious choice to select Ms. Leighow as the winner. The nominator speaks very highly of Ms. Leighow and it was an obvious choice for the Law Offices of Rick H. Merrill, KXA 1520 am and the Everett Silvertips to choose Ms. Leighow as the January 2015 Educator of the Month winner.
“Mrs. Leighow goes above and beyond for the children and parents. Her love of the children and teaching shows in all the details such as correspondence with the parents and keeping them involved with the children’s lessons and day to day activities. She shows such respect and love for the children. We think she is the best teacher out there!”
Here is Rick presenting Ms. Leighow with the “Educator of the Month” plaque along with a $500.00 check made out to Northshore Christian Academy and Sarah Leighow, for her to use as she wishes to help meet students needs in the classroom. Rick hosted Ms. Leighow and her friend to an Everett Silvertips Hockey home game on January 17, 2015 at the Xfinity Arena in his suite.
