You have received a DUI and of course your very first concern is your drivers license. How are you going to work if you don’t have a drivers license? Once Rick has been retained for representation of your DUI, we will help you through the process of keeping your license.
Ignition Interlock Driver's License: What is it? What is required? When can I get it?
An ignition interlock driver’s license is a license that is issued by the Washington State Department of Licensing. It is a license that you have to apply for and be approved by the Department of Licensing. There are certain requirements that need to be met by you prior to even being considered for the license. The ignition interlock license once approved will allow you to drive a vehicle while your current license is suspended or revoked for a drug or alcohol-related driving offense.
What are the Requirements?
To be eligible for an ignition interlock license your current Washington State driver’s license must not be expired and you have been arrested or convicted for an alcohol or drug related driving offense. It is only valid in Washington State. There are certain exceptions for employer owned vehicles, which Rick can further explain to you if you contact us.
When can you apply?
If the Washington State Department of Licensing has suspended or revoked your license, you may be eligible to apply for an ignition interlock license after being arrested or after you have had your revocation hearing.
