Over the summer Rick had decided that he wanted to reward our local educators for the hardwork and dedication that they give to our local students and communities. Rick partnered up with local radio station KXA 1520 AM and the Everett Silvertips to sponsor a local educator each month.
And the Winner is?
During the month of January we received several nominations for Educator of the Month for the month of February. After a thorough review of all the entries, the Law Offices of Rick H. Merrill decided on a winner, Kathleen Vigil is a 3rd grade teacher at Immaculate Conception Our Lady of Perpetual help in Everett. Ms. Vigil was nominated by a parent. Below is the entry that was submitted through our website to nominate Ms. Vigil for the Educator of the Month for the month of February. You can see it was an obvious choice to select Ms. Vigil as the winner. The nominator speaks very highly of Ms. Vigil and it was an obvious choice for the Law Offices of Rick H. Merrill, KXA 1520 am and the Everett Silvertips to choose Ms. Vigil as the February 2015 Educator of the Month winner.
“Kathleen Vigil is a credit to her profession. She is willing to go the extra mile for her students. Her leadership of her students is a credit to her professionalism and her religion. She is willing to take extra steps to insure that her students excel in life and academically. Each Sunday she is visible presence at the 10:00 mass at Immaculate Conception Church as an usher with her husband, and always has a smile on her face and an encouraging word for each of her students inside and outside the classroom. I am proud to say that she has been a positive influence on my daughter and each of the students that she has taught. Please consider her for your teacher of the month, as she is an outstanding teacher in Everett!”
Here is Rick presenting Ms. Vigil with the “Educator of the Month” plaque along with a $500.00 check made payable to Immaculate Conception Our Lady of Perpetual Help and and Kathleen Vigil, for her to use as she wishes to help meet students needs in the classroom.
