May 2015 Educator of the Month

Last summer Rick had decided that he wanted to reward our local educators for the hard work and dedication that they give to our local students and communities.  Rick partnered up with local radio station KXA 1520 AM to sponsor a local Snohomish County educator each month.

And the Winner is?

Over the course of the school year we have received several nominations for Educator of the Month.  After a thorough review of all the entries, the Law Offices of Rick H. Merrill decided on a winner, Dana Krsnadas.  Ms. Krsnadas is a teacher of marketing classes along with the DECA advisor and helps students run the Charger Station at Marysville Getchell High School.  Ms. Krsnadas was nominated by several students that attend Marysville Getchell High School. Below are the multiple entries that we received for Ms. Krsnadas nomination for the Educator of the Month for the month of May.

“Ms. Krsnadas runs our clubs and teaches us skills that will help us be successful in the future” Adie H.

“Ms. Krsnadas deserves this award because she’s always hard working and has classes that can help students find a better career.  She also runs the student store and an organization called DECA” Jackie H.

“Ms. K deserves this because she is the best DECA advisor and loves all of her students!  She gets to know everyone personally and genuinely cares about our future!” Kristin N.

“Ms. K deserves this because she is always there for her students and cares for all her students.  She is a great teacher” Kaitlin S.

Presentation

Here is Rick presenting Ms. Krsnadas with the “Educator of the Month” plaque along with a $500.00 check made payable to Marysville School District and and Dana Krsnadas, for her to use as she wishes to help students to continue to excel in the classroom.

The Goal

Rick’s goal is to help reward our local Snohomish County Educators.  We understand that being an educator in today’s world has a lot of extra stresses.  Most educators spend countless hours with young students, without receiving any type of pay compensation.  Several educators have expressed to Rick their frustrations with having to use their own hard earned money to buy supplies for their classrooms.  Rick hopes that with the $500.00 donation help alleviate some of those stresses, so our local educators can concentrate on educating our youth.

Remember if you know a local educator in the community that goes above and beyond their normal educator duties, please nominate them on our website.  We review the entries every month and select a deserving winner.
